A little behind

While Corrie has been a busy blogger, I have been shying away from all things "Allora Aspetta!" lately while getting back into the swing of things here at home. we had a wonderful trip back to the states in August, and getting back to Italy took a bit of time to adjust to, but now things are getting normal again.

There's so much to say about our trip back home--it was three weeks long!--that I really need to just start fresh, with a new blog entry, and pour it all out. But for now I'll just do a quick summary for those three weeks we spent back home--starting in New York City in the afternoon, with lost luggage and friendly family faces, heading home to Chicago then Indianapolis, and then finally settling in for a few days at home. We spent a lot of time with family, since my grandmother's memorial service took place while we were in Indianapolis (she passed away this summer), and all of my mother's side of the family came home for that. We spent time with friends too, and we even took a couple of days "off" to head up north to Milwaukee, see the beautiful Calatrava art museum, and hang out with friends who we hadn't seen for a couple of years. And we spent a lot of time with my immediate family, as much as we could, before heading back to New York for our last hurrah--a couple of days touring, no lost luggage, dinner with old friends, and plenty of insider sites to see (we stayed with my cousin who is a jazz musician there). It was a wonderful end to a full, yet relaxing trip to the states.

We got back at the start of September, and already there's a lot to write about, but for the moment I'm just going to mention that school has started back up, leaving me with another 10 day intensive English course in my hands, and, as seems to be the start of a little tradition, the beginning of a new school blog. Check out their good work over at "Blowin' In The Wind" and be sure to leave encouraging comments! It's another good group of students, so they will be pleased with all of the comments they can get :)!

More soon---really! I've got a lot to catch up on (hikes in the mountains, a trip to Abruzzo and Gran Sasso, and an already infamous journey up north with my dear friend Cyndi to the town of Urbino--me driving the whole way. Yikes!)

Welcome back to the blog world Jackie! It was so fun to see you last week and I can't wait to do it again (yes, we are still alive after Jackie drove us to Urbino). I plan to write about the adventure just as soon as I get the photos downloaded into the computer (hey, it has only been a week...and a half)!
